The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP), America's first pediatric hospital, is world-renowned for its fetal surgery, cardiac, and cancer programs. Patients' immediate family members are welcome at all times (24-hours) and one parent or guardian may stay overnight. Visiting hours for patients' relatives and friends are 10am-9pm.

Visitor Guidelines

To ensure the safety of everyone who enters CHOP, all visitors 18 years or older are required to show photo ID upon entering. Anyone under 18 years of age must be accompanied by a parent or adult guardian at all times when visiting the hospital. The hospital requests that no more than two healthy guests visit a patient at any one time (in addition to parents, legal guardian, or caretakers). Visitors with colds, flu, chickenpox, coughs, and other contagious illnesses are asked to remain at home until they are well. The hospital is a smoke-free environment, though there are several designated, outside smoking areas.     The hospital offers many amenities including computers with Internet access in the Family Library, Wi-Fi, Banking and ATM, food services at two cafeterias, vending machines, lactation rooms, language services, mail, showers, washers and dryers, courtesy and public phones, a pharmacy, and parking.
